We've been living in Hither Green for a year or so and we love the area. As we are family with a teenager and pre teen we always love to find about new places to visit, so we'll definitely look forward for recommendations of places to visit within the area.
We've been to the mini golf (brilliant) and we'll definitely try Don't Bring Me Flowers... any other suggestions?
As has been mentioned many times before on this forum Manor park is a gem and Mountsfield park is much improving. My children are not teenagers yet but they love going to Blackheath and Greenwich where the market is fantastic and the old naval college buildings really interesting - especially the painted hall which used to be the officers mess, the maritime museum and observatory are also well worth a look and the planetarium shows are excellent. In the other direction Hornimans museum and gardens in Forest Hill are also very good.
Everyone has their own favourite eateries my own being the Bengal Brasserie and the Mata Hari virtually next door to each other on Springbank road both good for either eating in or takeaways. The Station Hotel hosts a brilliant acoustic night every Thursday showcasing musicians from literally all over the world - always a good evening. For a quieter drink and a better selection of ales The Jolly Farmers is very nice. Hope the above is helpful.
An area that does not get much publicity is Beckenham Place Park which is about 200 acres of woodland and parkland and includes a 9 hole public golf course.
